Tillandsia 'Betty'

Tillandsia 'Betty' is a cultivated hybrid resulting from a cross between Tillandsia xerographica and Tillandsia brachycaulos. As it approaches blooming, the foliage blushes to a striking pink or red, and it produces a tall, capitate inflorescence with pink bracts and tubular purple flowers. This cultivar is appreciated for its ornamental appeal and adaptability to various growing conditions.e, typically 20–25 cm in diameter

Care Tips:

  • Light: Prefers bright, indirect sunlight; can tolerate some direct morning or late afternoon sun
  • Water: Mist 2–3 times per week or soak briefly; ensure the plant dries completely between waterings to prevent rot
  • Humidity: Thrives in moderate to high humidity environments with good air circulation
  • Media: Suitable for mounting on substrates that do not retain water, such as timber or cork bark; can also be placed in decorative holders
  • Temperature: Optimal growth between 15–30°C; protect from frost in cooler climates
